Where EXACTLY are you reading this "number" from?

The Z16A denotes that you have an AWD/Twin Turbo version of the vehicle.
My best guess is the last 7 numbers is the number (starting at ZERO) of vehicles that were built with the above characteristics.

BUT, that being said, if you look back to the first page of this thread, someone else posted a similar number years ago, and someone mentioned that it may have been built in Europe.
I assume that because it was not built in Japan it didn't receive the standard 16 digit VIN.

Hope this helps,

Bob.

I got this off the firewall, but I assume it has to be Japanese because of all the Kanji around the vehicle (and the 100 yen coin I found under the seat haha). I should have probably posted it like this:

Model: E-Z16A MNGF
Chassis No: Z16A-0016231
Engine: 6G72 EXT: W29
Color: 29 ---- 04-004

If it helps anyone else... It is a Twin turbo, 4 bolt head.. so looks like 93. It has cloth seats and and thats pretty much all I have...

Well, all the cars that were built in Japan were given VIN's that look like this:

289283

"JA" = Mitsu
"JB" = Dodge

And the rest just filled out by car.

I mislead you with the 16 digit thing above, apparently it is 17 digits (by the form)

Bob.

EDIT:

According to this thread:

The W29 part appears to say that your car is a 94 model, as w29 (Brilliant White) was used as a color that year (and on a few 95 Stealths)...

Thanks again for the discussion! Very interesting information. It is the Brilliant White colour, but it has the pop-up headlights and no passenger airbag. Which should mean its actually a late production 93? Either way thanks for replying!

Cheers!

I suppose "anything" is possible (and I agree with your assessment) as your car doesn't appear to adhere to any of the "normal" VIN stuff.

A guess would be that the "04-004" has something to do with the interior material and color (again, just a guess).

When you've been around here as long as I have, you find out all kinds of crazy crapola!!!!

Bob. :)
