If you own a service manual (paper or CD), it will explain troubleshooting techniques of the system.

Most likely cause of the problem is bad relay on thg Hydraulic Unit, the HU itself or one of the wheel speed sensors.

Yes, its safe, although the ABS is at this point disabled (some on the board would conside r this a godsend as they consider our ABS system "dinosauric").

If you PM me an email addy, I will try to send you the pages from the manual that talk about the ABS system (may not be the entire section, but enough to help....).
