I am assembling parts to replace my rack. I have given up on the rear steering given the constant leaks due to rusted lines. Plan is to perform the rear steering delete and replace every possible item of wear on the front steering so I don't need to deal with any more issues. Thus far I have found a refurbished rack, pump, and the rubber pressure and return lines from reservoir to pump on RockAuto.

Just called Cherry Hill and it seems that the front hardlines MB553959 and MB631693 are no longer available. Nobody on ebay has them either. Hence the question, do these have standard fittings so I can fabricate my own or am I stuck using the old ones?

I'm not saying they "actually" have them, but they're listed!!!

Sorry boss!

It's getting harder and harder to find just about anything these days....

Good Luck!!

They rust and leak it all depends on the climate and Storage of the car.The fronts on the rack use O-rings those leak due to the O-ring or a combination of both.
Unfortunately they are discontinued, some one needs to reproduce them.Stainless steel hard lines would be best.
This may be something you can make for this platform. No one else seems to offer replacements.

seems the solid hydraulic lines from the front rack to the rear steering are rusting out on people in salty climates :)
I've heard of some people replacing with home made lines, or completely deleting the rear steering capability.

The rear high pressure lines were the first to get discontinued years back. That made lots of owners go the AWS delete route.A set on a 94 I had rusted and were leaking. That’s how I found out they were no longer available.I didn’t want to delete the AWS so I did some searching for a solution and only thing I was able to do was have a guy at Napa remake them. The only way he was able to redo them was reusing the fitting on my lines. They are some kind of special fittings that no one seems to be able to get. They needed to be cut off and welded a certain way in order to be reused.
Around a couple of year ago the front lines that use O-rings got discontinued.A friend with a 97 is having a hard time finding used ones. He’s trying to get ahold of The longer line and see if a shop can duplicate it.I’m post on here how he makes out.
