I did my research and I just want to make sure I've come away with correct information. Only during boost which i can hear the turbo's pushing the air i also hear a whistle. Could this whistle be created by leaks in my vacuum hoses, leak in my intercooler piping or could it be the turbo itself possibly rubbing the housing or different kind of turbo failure. I can't say it just began but it is signifigantly louder than when i originally purchased the car (1 1/2 months ago). I'm checking for any visible leaks but what other causes/solutions are there? I am ordering the vac reduction kit from M-Spec so I will have new vacuum hoses whenever he gets more red in.

Thanks,
Alex

If the whistle is inside the car, the check valve on your brake booster line has blown, and the air you're hearing is boost trying to blow up your master cylinder. If that's the case, you need a new line from the dealership.

My '92 TT has an (at least it sounds that) electric buzzer beepin inside dash when accelerating WOT??? What's that, is there some device that even supposed to beep or am I just loosing it... no the sound is definately there and only under hard acceleration, but what could it be since it sure sounds electrical beep not some vacuum whistle, heeeelp?

I found another thread where guys said that an faulty clutch booster hose and valve will make this beeeeeeep sound. Thats weird, I think I should be able to tell a difference between electric beep and an vacuum leak. Well maybe I can't so time for some hose check. Somebody was assuming theres a factory overboost alert built in 1st gens and actually that's what I was thinking too. My car is bone stock though so it shouldn't overboost in any condition.

For anyone who has bent compressor blades you really need to find the cause.

In my case it happened all of a sudden on a gearchange at the drags.

I had previously fitted an aftermarket BOV, vented to atmosphere. Of course I had stalling problems, I tightened the nut for the spring to try it to stop stalling. Nothing cured it until I plumbed it back.

I left the nut too tight, this I think was the cause. Since rebuilding the turbo and loosening the nut I've had no more problems.
