Was wondering your opinions on what you would think it would take (and cheapest way) to achieve 500 hp on a TT motor. Thoughts?

What are your goals for the car?

drag, street, road course, daily driver?

just saying 500hp is like saying im in NY how do I get to CA.

there are a lot of different ways but one is always the best.

did you try searching or looking at the builds people have done to achieve 500 awhp?

By the person you bought it from or the dealership? If it was not the dealership and you do not have a receipt of the work then I would pull off the timing belt cover and inspect everything to see how old it looks.

300+ can be done basically with a stock car and a couple minor mods. 400+ is relatively easy with a bolt on turbo like a 15g and some larger injectors and basic BPU. I don't think you'll get to 500awhp unless you get 16g turbos or better and even then it will depend on tuning and supporting mods.

500+ has been done on 19t turbos but they are kinda expensive and your really limited by the stock manifolds from pushing it any further.

Basically what it boils down to is that 500 seems to be the threshold on these cars. Once you get past that point it's big $$$ and you need to know how to tune. From what it sounds like so far you need to make sure your preventative maintenance is done first before you start down that path. For your transmission making noise at idle, that is usually the throwout bearing chattering. Happens most often when you have an aftermarket clutch put in.

Having just built my GTO to make over 500 AWHP, let me pass on a little bit of advice. Be smart, take your time and listen to those who know about this platform. I spent so much more than I should have, and went with a setup that may or may not be good. I thought it wouldn't take much longer than a month or two. Almost 2 years later, I'm still not running the G hard. It took almost a year to get her built and back on the road. It was a full custom job which took lots longer, as most custom jobs do. I'm hoping to have mine tuned this week so I will see whether it was all worth it.

13T will get you to 500BHP
Then you can use the extra from the list already posted to get DSM converted SMIC.
If you read up you can also tune it yourself.

If you are looking for Wheel Horse Power then to achieve 500 will require a bit more money and work. Very few people do it on TD04 Turbos so you will be looking at TD05 or T3/T4 setup.

From your post I assume you are looking for Brake Horse Power since you said "On the Motor" Everyone here is probably thinking you meant wheel power.
