Not too much of a race, but here's the story: I'm heading out to eat with a buddy of mine (bout 150 lbs) and at intersection waitin to turn into the lane the same way as me, is a white supra. I head on through the intersection and a few seconds later, he pulls up right next to me, so my friend rolls down the window and asks if it is TT....he replies with a swift rev and that beautiful, unmistakeable hisssss....I tell him I'm n/a and he punches it (not sure if it was auto or not, if they even make them in auto) and i shift to second, spinning the tires, and stay DEAD EVEN! I could tell this guy was gettin on it too, I could hear his engine and exhaust...we only raced from about 40-85 or so, but I was still amazed that he didn't just automatically walk me by a train length...I may not be TT, but I still love my car :D

You can't hear stock Supra TT's blow off. I guess he could have had an aftermarket blow-off valve, though. It was probably a n/a. A Supra TT would leave you like you were standing still, even if it was only from 40-85mph.

#4 ·
maybe he had that fake blow off kit someone posted a few days ago. You know, the one with the speaker that makes the noise

#5 ·
yeah, if you stayed with him he was probably an n/a. Its still a good race though. I raced a supra TT and he pretty much embarassed me, oh well he was pushing about an extra 150 horses with his mods ;)

So how do those mods beat a stock Supra that puts about 300-hp to the wheels?

#10 ·
I've beaten a BPU MKIII Supra Turbo 2 out of 3 tries. Dead stop to 60-65. And the one he won was by about 1/4 car length(not a perfect 1-2 shift). The two I won were by a good car length or so. Was this a MKIV?

#11 ·
I saw a stock MKIII Turbo dyno at 192-rwhp and then they messed with the intake and opened it up. They ended up with 200-rwhp. Pretty amazing that the next generation stock had 100 more rwhp than it's predecessor!

call me crazy, but isn't a stock supra tt good for mid to low 13's? you give them a headstart? ummmmmm ...... bullshit? yeah, thats it. BULL-FUCKING-SHIT.

jon3k,
I just did not want to be the one who said it! :) Sounds like another case of the "Fast and the Rediculous" syndrome!

I saw this sweet Looking Ferrari 360 Modena the other night. I pulled up next to him and he punches it just when I drop Second and I was Surprised we stayed dead even until 140 or so when I pulled on him badly all the way up to 170 and I flew by RUNIER in his VR-4 like he was sittin still....I knew he was on it b/c I could hear his engine and BOV (He didnt have a chance). I topped out at 250 MPH!! I HAVE THE FASTEST CAR IN THE WORLD MUHAHAHAHA!!

j/king guys but thats how crazy some of these war stories are getting:D ;) :p

I usually don't comment on an SL kill unless it's my own, but...

Beating a MKIV Supra TT with an SL isn't possible. I hang with about 10 Supra owners, and I get my ass kicked all the time....even racing :D I don't care if you had nitrous...oh...and if the Supra was an auto, well I know they can run up to a second faster than a stick because of the way they hold boost.

I have raced a stock Supra TT from a roll of about 10mph...I'm even through first, but their second and boost building...well, let's just say I wish I a TT to allow me to keep up :D

Time to post. I have a few mods to my TT. Pre Cats gutted, UDP, intake,(SOON) and am running 14 lbs. of boost. I have a hard time playing with MILDly upgraded Supra's. Once they are BPU and running more boost, they are extremely fast. I am guessing I have a little under or around 400 horse power. You have approximatle 1/2 that. I am sorry to say, Iwhole heartedly agree with the BS flag here. IF that Supra had been a MKV TT, let alone BPU, it would have been an embaresment for you. They have egos for a reason, the majority of them HAUL ASS. I am not a Supra freak, just a racer that has played with some before and lost.

#20 ·
No, I'm not bullshitting, please dont give me the flag!!!:D
But I can't be sure that it was turbo either. My car has a kind of a whistle to it most of the time(anyone know why?), but I was just kind of excited that I raced a supra, nicest thing I have raced prior was prolly that Camaro Interceptor (beat me)...Guess I should have known there was no way I could hang with it, but I did so it must have been n/a...but what would you guys have done in my situation (n/a guys), probly the same thing:get all excited and come tell the board...Oh well, it was still fun...BTW FASST LN, do supra's really put down 300+ HP stock? I'm not the Supra expert (obviously) but that seems a lil bit high to me

NOS is what does it

The stock TT supras are good for 14.0 stock and thats with tracktion id know my buddy has one and a 3000 TT.Great cars but come on you guys buid up these cars to be super cars go to the tracks mildly warmed over mustangs eat up these supras and RX7s I owned an RX7 TT .I think the bull shit is getin waist deep now .Maybe with an expert driver the supra would run low 13s but all my time at the track ive never seen it.

I watched a bone stock '95 Supra (or maybe it was a '93-1/2) at the track run 13.6's @ 105. He then removed his right headlight and ran 13.4's @ 107-mph. The kid was a mod unto himself, probably weighed just over 100-punds, and immature as all get out. But those are the times he ran, and it was not a very cold day (around 60-degrees).

Yes, both Supra's and LS1's put down around 300-rwhp stock. Some a bit more, some a bit less. '00 and newer LS1's average around 300-rwhp, the '97-'99 LS1's put down an average of 290-rwhp. A different exhaust manifold and intake manifold is responsible for the increase for the LS1's.

I hate to quote magazines, but this is to prove I am telling the truth unlike some others on this board. Road and Track (or maybe it was Motor Trend) ran their Supra to a 0-60 in 4.9 and 1/4 in 13.5 @ 107-mph. That same year they ran a LT1 Camaro (because this was back in '95) to a 14.4. So they don't even drive the cars that well compared to other magazines.

So supras only lose 20 HP from the crank to the wheels? 320 crank, 300 to the wheels, stock? Still seems high to me...Someone on this board once posted that VR-4s are only putting down 240 at the wheels, and I'm sure the drivetrain loss from AWD isnt that much more than with RWD (maybe 5% or so more?) So how can the 3000GT TT put the same numbers as a Supra TT with so much less HP at the wheels? Or maybe I'm getting some wrong numbers somewhere. Someone please clear this up for me.

#25 ·
Your thinking is right. But Supras are underated at 320-hp. There actual output level at the crank is closer to 340-350-hp. The same way that an LS1 Z28 is listed at 305-crank hp. In reality some of the dyno at or higher than 305-hp to the wheels! LS1 F-bodies are underated just like MKIV Supras. That's all. :):)
