I think that is total BS, I called the dealership today and asked about all kinds of parts.....but for the price you're going to pay might as well hop on hotline

 

Try a local parts store.... Just b/c the dealer doesn't make em doesnt mean they are gone forever. Plus things like window regulators from a parts store usually come with a lifetime warranty

 

There's bunch of parts that Mitsubishi doesn't make anymore. Think about it logically. Can you imagine how much money would be spent on needless production of countless parts for a car almost 5 years discontinued?

Most parts they discontinue are universal anyways. They usually continue to produce specialty parts.

 

exactly... they can still provide any part you need...even though thier not mass producing every single part anymore.

 

they are required by law to produce parts for 7 years after the last model year.

the window regulator was the same from 91-99 so they have to make it.

 

so all we can do is avoid blowing our cars apart and we're fine right?

Actually, I am almost 100% certain that they are required by law to produce replacement parts for 10 years after the date of manufacture. I remember reading it in a article once. That would mean that any part that came on a '94 or newer car would still be available. Anything that was specific to a '91-'93 could be discontinued at any time.
