Desmond "regamaster EVO" lightweight. it's a pretty famous race wheel in Japan. Just like Volk racing TE37.

I've never really asked about weight ... just assumed the VX8's were lighter than stock by a great deal. Can you provide some weight comparions from stock to the VX8's please ??

 

I dont know what a VX8 is. I listed all those as a guide. Your gonna have to do a little research like i did if the rim your looking for is not listed . I have not weighed the stock rims myself, yet. i hear that they are 29lbs.

I searched archives for "wheel weigh stock" and found stock rims are maybe 34 lbs. I emailed import-store and will post their reply about the Velox VX8 weight for others when I get word back.

I found them for $175.00 each. This is 18x7.5 but they only offer lug patterns of 4x114.3 and don't know about the offsets. I doubt they even fit and if they do....it's only 7.5' width...I don't think I would want that.

About the SSR's...

I was looking into the 17" SSR GT-1, or the Moda R6 a while ago, and was told by a "sales rep" at tire rack (who was quite the moron) told me that I could only get either in an 18" wheel. Anyone know anything about this? Do they require a spacer? Know of someone who sells them (aside from tire rack, because they refused to sell the friggen wheels to me)

If you've got the money get a set of Volks. I haven't found anyone that makes lighter rims for our cars. Plus if you get a set of their +40mm 18x9's you can run 275/35/18's on all 4.

 

So far in my search, I've discovered that wheel shops HATE the VR-4, because of those front calipers. I've actually had one tell me straight off the bat that they won't even try to fit wheels for a VR-4. The other think I've discovered is that trying to find a 17" wheel at least 8" wide is a tough task indeed.

Based on specs, etc, there are a couple of wheels I'm trying to find: Enkei RP 01 and Kosei K1. The Kosei's look like brake clearance could be an issue, but I'm hoping that with 5mm spacers they'll fit. They're lightweight and not too expensive...these are the ones I'd really prefer. I think there are people that run the Enkei's on VR-4s right now, but I haven't been into my local Discount Tire (they're produced exclusively for them, apparently) to get a quote.

Anybody have experience with either of these wheels? What about 5mm spacers? Where do I get a hold of them?

I just saw the moda r6's....Im thinking about those in an 18! I like the RP01 as well.....there are not a lot of rims for the TT's because of our calipers! It sucks! I wouldnt suggest spacers!

Looking at the pics of rims on cars...the Moda looked nice! I have also thought aobut the TANTRUM, but not sure what size 18 I would need!

I won't go to them ever again. Also, I was under the impression that a 9" tire was a little larger than 245 (say 265 or 275)

Sorry about your luck. I've heard overwhelming positive things regarding Tirerack.

As far as the size, I believe that 225-265 will fit, 235-255 is acceptable, and 245 is optimum.
