Im considering selling what i have now ( rwd Isuzu Rodeo) cuzz it sucks balls in anything other than dry weather so i was wondering how well the FWD 3S's hold up in inclimate weather? I realize tires are a huge part in how well the cars handle in different weather but overall what are your experiences with them in snow/rain? Thanks

I drove my FWD in the winter last year. Im in NH, there were some good snowstorms, and it did fine, even in over a foot of snow. And it had crappy no name all season tires.

My winter car is a 91 stealth ES. I run straight snow tires from Oct-Apr. (Nokien happellita..sp?). The FWD/tire combo. is unbelievable in all depts of snow and very predictable handling on ice. The clutch however is incredibly hard to depress after -30C and has to be held for almost 5 min. until it warms up abit. If its plugged in it is never a problem. My TT is parked for the winters but I must admit I am tempted to try it in the snow. Incredible fry your ass off heat in the ES as well. It is surprising how many people think that because you are in a sports car that when the light changes you are just going to spin. They don't want to be behind me until after they realize it's not rwd or getting stuck.

By the way, I live in Northern Alberta Canada

My 95 SL did awesome for the short time I had it out in the snow. I bought a brand new full set of really nice snows, then drove it through like, 1 snowstorm :p. Never had any problems, handled awesome in snow.

I need to sell those damn tires ;)

FWD are the next best thing aside from 4x4/AWD...they have much more traction on the driving wheels cuz the engine displaces more weight, therefore creating more friction/traction. I had a neon, and it handled VERY well in the Alaskan winter (lots of snow). I haven't driven it in bad rain cuz where i was before with it, hardly ever rained (Idaho).

I've had both AWD VR-4 & SL FWD. Good handeling for both. AWD is super for rain (not too much snow here, but was great in an Arkansas snowstorm). FWD was pretty good also, even with quick wet turns. Maybe it's the weight... I don't know. But tires are just as important, so keep 'em maintained. Overall yeah, as stated above, 7 out of 10 sounds about right.

I had my SL through one winter...had my old wheels and summer tires (yokohama es100's) and I still did just fine...so this winter I actually have the snow tires on so it shouldnt even be a sweat...I can only imagine how well a vr4 is haha
