I had a brain freeze and forgot if the little green thing with two pins that you plug in for the alarm is called a fuse or not lol, but anyways I've plugged it in before and the alarm went off and i turned it off somehow, but now i can't remember what I did. I had to pull out the fuse the other day and now I cant put it back in without the alarm staying on. I think it had something to do with locking/unlocking the doors, but I cant remember what I did. Does anyone know how? I think the neighbors are getting pissed, I've been trying for like 10 minutes. :p

Put the key in the either door lock and turn it either direction.
That doesn't work for me. I know thats how you turn it off normally, but I can't seem to shut it off after putting in the fuse. Any other ideas?

The problem most people have with the alarms is when they go off for no apparent reason. Cause is usually the pin switch under the hood or one of the door switches. Turning the door locks with the key is supposed to shut off the alarm no matter what, so your's is definitely not working right. Checking the wires that connect to the locks would be a good place to start trouble-shooting.

The first thread below tells how to permanently disable the alarm without losing any other functions like dome light, etc. Second thread has some discussions on how the alarm is supposed to work. If you're trying to get the alarm working right you're going to have to do some serious trouble-shooting. Good luck!

Mine works fine. I put it in when i bought the car because the fuse was out and when you plug the fuse in the alarm activates. I did something like starting the car, turning it off, locking the door, and then unlocking it with the key or something like that. I dont remember exactly and thats the problem. Once i shut it off last time, it worked fine and I could turn it off by unlocking the doors. So I guess everyone else can just unlock a door after plugging in a fuse to turn it off? I don't know it took me a while to do last time and I had to take out the fuse after disconnecting the battery the other day because it went off. I plug it in, alarm SOUNDS, and I can't stop it, but once I do it'll work fine. Thanks for all the help tho. I appreciate it. :)
