Just wondering what the highest horsepower numbers were that anyone has gotten using TD04 housed turbo's?

Not mine, EMZZRKT just dynoed 428 to the wheels, but it was a preliminary, VERY conservative run. Only 14lbs, no nitrous, and pump gas. His car is fully built, running the Phantom turbos. They're suppossed to handle like 28-29 lbs to redline I think, plus he has a 50-shot of nitrous, plus he still has to run with race gas. So I think we're looking at close to 600HP to the wheels.91vr4n00maxima said:whats your setup?
TDO4HL-Super 60 Compressor wheel 6CM stage 2 for the 3000 GT VR-4 and Stealth Twin Turbo produces 500cfm each. it increases compressor flow to support over 680HP. This turbo also uses the larger compressor wheel as well as the larger TDO4HL turbine wheel, not the smaller TDO4 wheel found in the factory turbo. These are direct bolt on replacements for the factory turbos and require little modification of factory snorkel pipe for installation.91vr4n00maxima said:td04 turbines dont have enough flow to support 600 to the wheels.....unless they are severly ported...even then i dont think they are big enough.

Like this:toddrs93 said:In the Phantoms its just a larger compressor wheel, but typically I think TD04HL turbos have an integrated BOV actually in the turbo housing.
I would have to disagree because nothing in the past compares to what is going on now especially with the 3s. I hear how terrible our front bank is compared to our rear and a few are taking strides to remedy that problem different manifolds etc. No one has even run a 19T on this motor yet and its suppose to be the best turbo for our cars according to Jeff Lucas so I do believe that td04's will get over the 500 AWHP mark because there is just too much going on to put a cap on them. Side question = don't gtpro 368's come with the super 60 compressor wheel? Someone was on here dynoing over 400 AWHP at only 15 psi or something like that and never posted up the dyno, then had an engine failure or something preventing another dyno at higher boost.BigBallerVR4 said:I would have to agree, the TDO4 turbin housing will probably only be good for something a little over 500AWHP MAX. It dose not matter what CFM the compressor will flow. You also have to realize that NO ONE has ever produced anything over 500AWHP with a TDO4 based turbo so common sense would have to tell you that after all these years no one is going to jump from mid-high 400's to 600AWHP, that dose not even make sense.
The GT-368's actually use a regular T-3 60 trim wheel (not the super 60 trim) .. the phantom turbos that VR4me and Turbochargers.com sell use the super 60 trim wheelKibwe Walker said:Side question = don't gtpro 368's come with the super 60 compressor wheel? .
You have to mate that 19T compressor wheel up with a decent match for a turbine wheel to get that sort of flow out of it. If you put a huge-ass compressor wheel on, but keep the undersized TD-04 variant turbines you'll find that the restriction and limiting factor is on the exhaust side - not the compressor wheel.Kibwe Walker said:No one has even run a 19T on this motor yet and its suppose to be the best turbo for our cars according to Jeff Lucas so I do believe that td04's will get over the 500 AWHP mark because there is just too much going on to put a cap on them. Take apart a TD04 turbine side - you tell me how you are going to flow 300+ HP worth of combusted air through that dinky little thing. The front manifold is the least of your worries for making power.
Heheh. don't worry. Most people will just gloss over it without even giving it a thought.91vr4n00maxima said:FINALLY........someone else mentions the fucking turbines on these things.
