I'm right in the middle of the Sully two seater conversion. All of my audio components thus far are stock 1G. I plan on putting a sub and a speaker in the center of the vertical board of the conversion (if you don't know about the conv. check this link http://www.vr4stealth.com/sully_two_seater.htm ) I'm talking about puting it where his speaker w/ the roadrunner is. I'm also just simply moving the two rear speakers onto the vertical board in about the same location as where they are (behind and outside of both the driver and passenger, just moving them b/c the convo. covers them up). Anyway, I have no experience w/ audio what-so-ever and need to know what I should buy to get a decent quality bump and sound. I'm kinda confused by the whole ohm, watt thing and what the specs on the stock 1G VR-4 are. Do we have an amp already (under the passenger seat or something) or should I buy one, and what kind of sub should I get to match to get a good bump? Right now, I'm not really looking at replacing all my stuff, I'd like to keep the HU for now and all the speakers b/c the vinyl is a pain in the ass. And I'm not looking for top of the line, just a nice bump and crisp sound when listening to my music. Thx for any help and I'll upload pics when done :wink2:

honestly, with the convo I wouldn'y use ANY rear speakers. it sounds like shit. and having the sub right there front firing is going to sound like shit too. having the subs right behind the seats(or where they used to be) firing up at the glass gets the best cabin gain out of this car. i'd only do the 2 seat conversoin if your planning on running like 2 15's ported

US Amps are the highest quality and I reccomend them too. They will sound friggin sweet with the right speakers
thats also false information. the only reason this info exists is because idiots buy woofers that can take say 500 rms and then buy a 300 watt rms amp (altho it says 600watt MAX!! on the amp) lol well what they end up doing is cranking the gain up all the way because they heard so and so's 400 watt amp (properly set up) and think "ohh I got bigger amp, me make bigger sound" I could feed 2 watts to a 1000 watt rms sub all day for the next three years and not have a hiccup WHY? because if you set the gains properly you get little to no distortion.gofastman said:

But would it sound like shit sound wise since you are eliminating the rear speakers?? what about running a component set-up in the back where you could adjust everything and everything is seperate..

The way I've hooked up the 6x9's is so that I can adjust the power that the stock and aftermarket speakers are getting by using the left/right fader. I did this because I'm sure that they won't put out the same volume.

So, here's a pic of the install. As you can see, I did mine differently than he did on vr4stealth.com I took out my rear seats and also had the vertical board overlap the horizontal. It's night and I didn't clean anything so it's dirty, and I'm not entirely done with the fabrication. I still have some minor touchup work to do. When I get more time and have everything clean I'll be sure to upload many more pics
I'm not too good at this forum business. Anyone know how to upload nice high quality pics. It limited me to 100 kb, which makes for crappy pics.

I'm not very good with audio, but are you worried about the vibrations from the subs throwing off the speakers that are also mounted on the vertical board? We were worried about that too, a little. We used 1/2" MDF for the board itself and then reinforced everywhere possible with 2x2 boards runninng along the backside. If it's all that bad, we were planing on moving the subs to the horizontal board and remaking the vertical with just 6x9's.Styxnpicks said:
