ARC2 with E85?

Can you tune an ARC2 on E85? I've heard some great things about the ARC2, but I've never heard of anyone using E85 with one.

Yes you can. You're limited to injector size though. Theoretically since ethanol takes 30-35% more fuel you could run 1000cc injectors on E-85 with the ARC-2, but it would be at the limit of its range. You would not be able to run 1000cc injectors on pump gas. 720cc is the biggest it will handle.

So DR ARC2 CAN control 1000cc injectors running e85? I'm on the fence for fuel control when I buy dr750's. I live in Iowa and e85 is pretty common. Can't decide if I wanna run pump with water/meth using MAF-T and SAFC2 like ray did with his 650's or do it like matt and rock the DR ARC2, just because I've heard tuning it is a breeze. OR....run e85 so I don't have to use meth and it would give me less of a chance o f blowing up my 136k miles motor. What do you guys think? I would like to daily drive at about 20psi and crank it up to 25+psi whenever I wanna be nuts lol.

The ARC-2 is limited to 720cc injectors so you could use it for both. The SAFC won't support that big of injectors. You could use the SAFC in conjunction with the ARC-2 for larger than 720cc injectors, but I wouldn't recommend it. Your timing would be so far out of wack. At that point I would recommend an Emanage, flashed ECU, or standalone.

Keep the info coming.

Im sure someone out there is running e85 and an arc2

15gs should do it. You'll need a bigger pump. Walbro at a minimum but I would go for the DW 300 or Aeromotive 340. Also a FPR and probably a fuel filter with stainless element.

Obviously a fuel controller, arc2, matft gen2, AEM EMS would all work. SAFC may work as well. Take your pick. Stock side mounts intercoolers should be okay. Get a downpipe.

$ starts to add up quickly...

i may be wrong here, but if i recall correctly i believe i saw trevor or someone else high knowledgeable in tuning say that the cc of injector is pretty close to the amount of whp they will support. i guess it would change for E85 so maybe 450whp or so is all they could support....

Yes 720cc for GAS would be capable of 720awhp. 720 * .60 to .70 for E85 = 432-504awhp on E85. You could possibly squeeze a little more out depending on what the actual ethanol content is or how lean you run it.

I may not be as knowledgeable as Trevor, but you have been corrected...:)

At a minimum...15gs, mbc, quality boost gauge, 720s, fuel pump, arc2 (or similar), FPR w/fuel pressure gauge, filter, fuel lines/fittings to hook up FPR and filter to stock lines, wideband gauge, and datalogger.

Forgot upgraded y-pipe.

Don't forget an upgraded clutch.

Either arc2 or maft/safc should be able to control 1000cc with E85. Adjustments to FPR would help. You won't be able to switch back to gas though and retune.

I am going with AEM EMS with 1000cc. Just in case, I can have a gas tune also or jump up to larger injectors if needed in the future.
