How ya doin guys, im new to the VR4 game but have owned plenty 3000's and stealths non turbo, whole new beast.

Besides the point, my front aero motor is gone, along with every component in the front system. ive read that without the front system, the rear system will not work. i would like at least the rear system to work and was wondering if i could get the rear system to work without the front parts? maybe just hook up the front motor? and does ANYONE have the part number to the FRONT MOTOR for the aero system? cant find anywhere!!

Any help is appreciated
Thanks! Mike

I've read that if you just hook up the front motor, that back will operate like normal.

Is the link he was speaking about. You can rewire it to switch activated but you lose automatic control. You can get a front dam simulator from 3sx, or source a working front AA motor. As far as I know those are your only options.

and from stupidvr4 https://imclumzy.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/diy-3000gt-active-aero-rewire-for-manual-operation/

Both guides in that thread (the original and the rewritten one by stupidvr4) have a color missmatch for the cables. (not complaining thanks for the work guys!)

"Connect the black one from the switch to the red one from the connector." on the AERO switch i had to do it the opposite to even get it going,

I've used stupidbr4's guide, but he uses one different cable all along on the AA Computer harness.

But now as soon as i use any light the Aero Wing wants to do down, except i keep hold the switch before operating light. And can't go up when light is already switched.

I hadn't the time to tinker more. If you do can get it to work i'd appreaciate if you could tell which guide you used.

I suspect there is one more cable color error written in that guide.:)

Yes in the pictures in both written guides it is the black from the switch to the red from the plug side.

Switching it to like the picture and it works as long as you don't use any light (Low and high beam). Also one bulb in the switch for illuminating the letters (which one depends on whichposition the AA switch is) is always on even with no key in the car. That will drain your battery in a few days when left.

In the Guide linked to the wordpress there is this error:
D. *Cut and tape wire red/black wire. *Splice the red/black wire from the wiring harness to the blue/black wire from the black plug. *(See black plug E)
Black Plug:
E. *Cut the tape the blue/white wire. *Splice the blue/white wire from the wire harness to the red/black wire from the white plug harness (See white plug D).
There is no blue/black wire on the black plug. I took the blue/white since he says Step D and E link together and it'S the obvious choice when reading the 3si thread.

So yes, i can wave as long as i don't use any light - and it drains the battery - not 100% but better than nothing i guess :)

I wired mine up like the pic and still have nothing up or down. And I used the blue/white I'm the back. Only thing is the auto light doesn't work on my switch. Does yours come on when you pish it ? Starting to think its my switch

Yes the "AUTO" is on even when no key is plugged in the car.
And "OFF" is illuminated when the switch is put in the according position.

The switch and relays always have power from the battery, i can hear them when i press the switch.

When the key is in the ignition position the wing-motor has power too and is operated.

I don't know what happens when i remove the "AUTO" bulb, but i can try later today :)

so just got done testing everything. guess you need the big active aero fuse in the box under the hood for it to work lol . worked perfect once I put that in . only issue was the 'auto' was lit up even with the key out of the ignition . pulled that bulb and good to go. everything works with headlights on or off .

Just a follow up, i could remove the Bulb and it's still working - also i figured out why my wing was going down when operating the headlights.

I still had theActive Aero Box plugged in, obviously you do not plug in the two connectors back into the Box. It is not needed anymore and will cause the "issues".....:rimshot:
