top speed?

haha, I had my old '86 mazda b2000 up to 96mph going down a BIG hill once. I timed that thing with a stopwatch one day 0-60mph in 23 seconds! woot woot!!! :bandit:

the highest ive gone in my DOHC was 153.6 (according to my gps). i also seem to be pulling more power than most for some reason, the only "mod" done is a k&n, but it was hard getting it to that speed.

LOL I had a 86 b2000 before. That was a piece of crap, towards the end I was lunching rocker arms out the head covers. Damn thing ran on 3 cyl for the longest time. Try going up a hill running on 3 cyls it sucked ballsssss!

haha, I wouldn't have minded driving the thing if the heater/radio/had power steering/ and not SHIT BROWN interier. I still have it though, extra cab, paid 500 bucks, I think it has over 280k miles now. My dad drove it to work for about a year. hahaha. It leaks quite a bit of oil but fuck it just put a qt per 1k miles and shes good to go

I always wanted to slap a 350 in her. But oh well. She served me good for 2 years untill I got my stealth! I didn't put too much money into it either.

I may end up bringing her out this winter since its looks like we will end up getting a little more snow than normal, and my car is lowered about 2"

That or raise my car back up(but I can't really afford snow tires anyhow.

Don't count out the SOHC's...at least on power. I had a 93 V6 Acclaim (same SOHC motor) and had it somwhere over 120 (that's as high as the speedometer went).

lol, I took my SOHC to 135 or 145 i cant remeber no, its an atx and had 140,000 on it at the time w/ only an intake :bandit:

I've had my car (SOHC) up to 153... plenty of room left... and it just seemed to top out... the sad thing is the car was still up on jack stands...but on the interstate I had it at about 147... it was freakin awesome...

I have a 95 Sl with ATX..and the manual says that 143 mph is the max then the rev. limiter kicks in..
I have been up to 130 before for a few seconds on the highway....when I got the car it had less than 28k miles on it...I hadda see how it handled at high speed.

Mofo...was rock solid..the faster I went the tighter it felt..then I hadda slow down..things were flying by like I was in the twilight zone..and didnt wanna get too comf. hehe...It was a blast..
This little stint made me very proud of my car!!

yeah but lack HP limits it to going that fast, w/ the amount of HP they make, thats about as fast as it will go :bandit:

well i have had my DOHC 96 mtx with exhaust and intake at 160 and it felt fine, in fact doing 155 in a friends 3k is why i bought mine(well a big reason)

an NA 5 speed is geared to run 181mph @ rev-limiter(7300rpm), i was clocked by radar @179mph in my 93 stealth ES, i was drafting a 2002 ZO6 Vette. at the time i had gutted cats, cold air intake, ngk plugs, nology wires, MSD, new tires, new breaks, 120k full service, minnor head work
now i have a 94RTTT it has run 196mph on GPS
