If I remember right the "theoretical" top speed is something like 192 in a DOHC. However, you're doing pretty good if you get it close to 160.

Don't count out the SOHC's...at least on power. I had a 93 V6 Acclaim (same SOHC motor) and had it somwhere over 120 (that's as high as the speedometer went). :p

Terry
lol, I took my SOHC to 135 or 145 i cant remeber no, its an atx and had 140,000 on it at the time w/ only an intake :bandit:

THats what I was thinking. ATX's actually have higher top speed than MTX's right.
yeah but lack HP limits it to going that fast, w/ the amount of HP they make, thats about as fast as it will go :bandit:

i would guess 3-4 miles in a healthy running NA.
im gonna disagree
I was able to do 90-135/145 in my SOHC/ATX in about 1-2 miles, maybe less, simply cause we dont have straights that long around here and I was able to do it inbetween turns in the road :bandit:

Sorry Tony, but I am going to have to agree.. It took me 3+ miles to get up to 155 in my car when it was NA, and its a dohc.
CLICKY to see map to show where I am talking about

Heading east bound on I-40
at exit 146 is an over pass where cops sit, so speeding thru there is stupid, after passing the over pass to make sure there are no cops I punch it and reached at least 135 and slowed back down to 70 before the slight bend in the road at westover

Richard, you know I have nothing to lie about :bandit:
