I guess you don't know that seeding those manuals is a violation of forum rules and you could get banned for it. Considered Copyright Violation!

what exactly do you mean by "seeding" ? torrents?
looks like exactly what I have on the CD. not sure if thats copy righted. I bought it on ebay, I think.

 

i already own the book, its not about money i promise you that fellas the book itself is very out of print and copies are getting rare i would suppose, just trying to bring some good info to you guys not to break forum rules. Just thought we could have a set of manuals if we need it. if my tread upsets anyone ill take it down.

Something with vbulletin auto links stripped out half of the PDF filenames for my links. Use the ones Import Power poseted as they go right to the 3Ss manuals page. My links were supposed to go right to the PDF files themselves but links aren't posting correctly.

No but someone seeding the files could have infected it. That's why torrents are not safe!

 

No....it doesn't really work like that. If the primary source was safe, then the other sources would be safe. If they are modified from the original source, then their program is no longer "valid", and the file itself would be redownloaded from another seed, such that it matched the original source.

In short:

First copy is safe, all other copies should be safe. However, as with anything you download from the internet, take 110% caution.

 

Import, I think we are all afraid to now!

 

Our manuals are clean. It was the OPs torrents that were bad, we have nothing to do with those.

man you try and do something nice for people and you get flak like this, my link is legit i know it is because i made folder for folder. i love my GT and i want to make many friends on 3si. what personal gain do i get some putting viruses on computers? nothing. bottom line my file is safe and has no viruses

i know being new here i dont have much say on this site yet and with accusations like the one i just got shows me alot... im just trying to contribute to the community

Lies!? lol, why would I randomly lie about that. Having lost most my files is not something I fucking joke about.

 

Nobody said you lied. We are just pointing out the fact that you did not get a virus from the torrent. Check your computer, you got it from something else.

 

I'd like to point out a couple things:

1. Files downloaded using info from a torrent file are checked against an SHA1 hash in the .torrent file itself. This makes it obvious if the files were modified, and you wouldn't receive them (most programs won't even seed the tampered files either.)

2. If 3SX is hosting the service manuals, why is there an difference with copyright when someone links to the very same files except hosted themselves?

 

Thanks Spliffout I got them they are very helpfull, i didn't have any problems with virus and i am up to date.

All this time and i had no idea those files were hosted by 3SX, i think there shoud be a sticky link for them specially for newbees.

I also wonder what Marshall said, if these files are hosted by 3SX why would he get banned for hosting them too ?

I very much appreciate it, too bad I have XP and haven't figured it out. I bought a VR4 with 137K and wanted to change timing belt before much driving. Ordered a manual (cd) from ebay and 10 days (two weekends)later recieved a defective cd, said he would send another 11 days ago (two more weekends), am now looking for another source.
