http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Debonair

The wider range of available engines was now topped by a 260 PS 6G74 3.5 L DOHC V6, and as Mitsubishi's domestic flagship incorporated much of the company's technology, including four-wheel steering, four-wheel anti-lock braking system, electronically controlled suspension, and INVECS automatic transmission with traction control.

It was discontinued in 1999, and directly replaced by the Proudia. However, Mitsubishi also developed its first V8 engine for the new Dignity luxury car around this time, and it was this latter model which took position as the domestic flagship of the company.
I had to look it up as well, ha

The DOHC Montero engines on Ebay are probably from Debonairs.

I bought mine from Eric Japan Engines bu most of the JDM engine sellers are selling the same thing

EDIT: MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE FOLLOWING PARTS WITH THE ENGINE!
MOST JDM SELLERS WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY ACESSORIES ARE USUABLE!

ALTERNATOR MOUNTING BRACKET
POWER STEERING MOUNTING BRACKET
POWER STEERING IDLER PULLEY

Is there any way to tell that the Ebay ones are from Debonairs? I know the Montero is RWD vs the FWD Debonair with different mounting brackets and other stuff. Did you yourself buy a Debonair or Montero engine?

slightly off topic and nothing personal against nelson, but are you kidding me? nelson has said a lot of things, many of which were false or never came to fruition. just take what he says, with a grain of salt, that is all.
