Does anyone have a link to some pictures of the Viper hood? I really really want to see what this thing looks like..
Anyone?

It's a fiberglass scoop that's been fitted into the original hood. Some found them on ebay, someone ordered his from AutoForm (I need to find that phone #). I think one guy got his from a Dodge dealer...just ordered the viper scoop.
I'll have to find the pics again, but they are on an Avenger, not a 3KGT.
Thanks,
Matt

You know looks aren't what they were shooting for when they made this. If you want to look cool buy a plastic NACA duct from NOPI and super glue it to your stock hood. This hood weighs a good 45lbs less than the stock hood and is made of carbon fiber. If you haven't priced it lately real carbon fiber is not cheap. The NACA duct is also a functional cold air system.

Hood Scoops??

Hey Grasshoper, I have been looking for some cool hood scoops but I have really not found much of anything. Could you please list the number or website to Auto Form or anyother website or company that sells good hood scoops, not the JC Whitney ones. Do you know how much the Viper hood scoop costs from the dealer?

tHanks for all your help ;) Stephen

Trevor,
You're right. I didn't realize the new hood was carbon fiber. Definately the way to go for weight reduction; also explains the price :)
Well, I could only come up with this one pic.

This one is placed a little higher up than the others and is not functional (air flow doesn't go directly to the intake). If I come across the others, I'll stick em up here. I don't even know how they made them work.
I don't think auto form has a web site, but their number is (616)392-4909. I believe it cost $175.
The one OEM from the dealership cost about $115.
When you get a chance, you should check out http://www.asog.net These guys have some interesting ideas on squeezing every bit of performance out of some *ahem* slightly underpowered cars. Lot's of applications I plan to use when I get my 3KGT.

Thanks,
M

I wonder if they would set the 3si members a better deal on the hood if we had a bunch of people interested? Like a group buy sort of deal??? Can anyone find out if that is possible?

trevor... or anyone that may know,
i saw this site a while back... are they ever gonna finish the prototype!!?!? i thought i saw that pic a year ago when i first GOT my stealth! it may be a reduction ouf lbs... but does anyone know how many horses it's supposed to add? i'm assuming this will be kind if a "ram-air" setup. also... this much added air... will it cause the engine light to come on (not enough fuel for the amount of air coming in...??)? one more question... it looks like the hood is on a gen. 2... will this be made for gen. 1's too?

turboniam

turboniam i belive the NACA Intake scoop from the dealer is something like $300-$400.
thats what my local dealer priced it as, this was a while back.
i was looking into getting this done to my stealth.

i wish i knew then that someone was working on a hood with this scoop.
