I dont know about tires at all. All I know my tires are 225/55R16.

1) But what does the 16 stand for? Because I have 17'' rims and I was thinking the "16" stands for inches.

2) Plus whats the point of buying used tires? Its like buying used brakes. How do you know these tires dont have leaks or bubbles?

3) I need to get two front tires and if buying used ones don't harm, then I'll get meself some used tires :D. do they have to match the same size as my tires I have on now?

I have bought used over the years for different things and it has done me just fine. I just mainly needed tires to get me thru til summer so whats the point in spending $400 plus on tires now ya know?

And if you have 225/55/16 tires then you have 16 inch wheels not 17's.

Quick break down

the first number is the width of the tire in millimeters. 225/25.4=8.85 inches wide.
the second number is sidewall height in percentage of the width. 8.85*.55=4.87
thats only one side wall so 4.87*2=9.74
the last number is rim diameter so 9.74+16=25.74 overall diameter.
