Hi everyone, I was wiring up my stereo (Sony XAV-AX3200) to my car right now and the adapter crutchfield gave me looks like it hooks correctly, however its missing this weird black plug. Anyone know what that does and whether or not I can just ignore it?

I can confirm that the black plug is for steering wheel controls. You will need a PAC SWI-X or similar if you want those to work with an aftermarket radio.
