any type of air compressor will do...
just make sure you make the pressure tester properly.

Husky 7 horse 60 gallon 399 at home depot. That thing is one of the best tool's ive bought. I got all my air tools at harbor frieght. Impact wrench, 3/8 and 1/4 ratchet wrenches, and a die grinder.

BUTTTT, if you just wanna do the intake pressure tester and maybe fill up tires or something. You can get little 1.5 horse things at like walmart maybe. I think home depot also sells the little ones. You may be able to get one for less than 100 bucks, but im not sure.

Or if you want to go real cheap, buy a bubble. It is a refillable tank. Then buy a regulator so you can regulate how much air goes into the tester. Should be under $50 for that setup. Downside is that you will have to refill it at a gas station when it gets low.

I remember reading that someone built their tester with a fitting that would work with gas station air hoses. You can probably find more info about it from a search.

You could just put a regulator inline with the other fittings of the tester.
