Sorry to hear about the issues.

These cars are great when they are running. I don't think they ever really run right and if they do, it is only for a short time.

Except for the syncro, output shaft, spun bearings, transfer case lockup, misc oil leaks (turbos, oil sending sensor), water pump, timing belt, bent valves, dash vents, upper door trim's paint peeling, paint fading, clear peeling, driver seat rips, door panels bubbling, etc..., these cars are great.

 

Are you sure the guy in your avatar isn't rebuilding your motor? I kid, I kid. Hopefully you'll have everything straightened out soon.

I herd about a 100,000 mile warranty for used cars on Satellite Radio this week to cover repair bills. Might want to take a look into that.

 

I never tell ppl this and I am going to tell you...sell it, cut your losses.....quit spending money on cars you can buy faster from factory and have a warranty. Either that or get a diff mechanic or work on it yourself.

I highly recommend Gary Melcher (Mitsu Master Elite tech on our car). He rebuilt mine perfectly and it took him only once. During the rebuild he made some great recommendations and I have had no issues with my car for the past 14,000 miles since the rebuild. He is at Mile High Mitsubishi in Aurora, I think it is. Great guy, knows his stuff, and will throw you a deal if you choose to use him and mention my name. Give me a call if you would like. I have ALL of my receipts and specs.

I am looking at my receipts now and the labor charge was $4644.00 and then I did all new 60k stuff and also miscellaneous parts/bolts/gaskets and new connecting rods and that was $2013.48. Also with my aftermarket lash adjusters, pistons, clutch, turbos, output shaft, and motor mounts the total was around $10,000. Worth every penny in my opinion and I can always go back to him if I have issues. Could have been completed in 2-3 weeks if I did not have to wait for my aftermarket items. Also, the 12 month/12,000 mile warranty was a kicker.

 

oh wow..that is really not that bad of a deal...the warranty is kinda lame 1,000 miles a month.... but still better then notting. right?

 

I think its an either or mileage or month....12k is about what ppl drive in a year.

Anywho Sin, Gary and I stripped my car and rebuilt it twice *sigh* and FTR he's one over anyone even considered legend at 3si. I believe one of 50 in the Nation with that mitsu elite elite rating, ofcourse he's clocked at 130 and hr. One thing I like about G is you can pay and do hands on and get school'd from Yoda himself . Hang in there buddy. I Stopped by UP's last week and could not help but notice how prdy the car is. Hope the riddles go away for you to enjoy. Does your ride have marron and black leather and are you a pueblo 3/S guy. If so I seen your ride at UPP. Mine choose to fry caps and leak everywhere the day I saw it. Stupid ECU....!

good to know my car can help someone else's. My vss was teh problem. He took them back to laniers and they are redoing the heads i guess. They didnt do it last time. they just cleaned em. He is rehoning the block so we'll see what happens. I swear this car hates me.

Oh, and by the way ck is taking care of this problem. For what its worth he is a stand up guy and still got me 400crank/360awhp with the smoking and bad vss!

 

Yeah. He is alright with me just not the usual kind of guy I like dealing with though. When I brought it to him the codes showed it could be the coils which is what I wished it was..Stupid ECU. I like that he found out what was wrong with it but I hate that he charged me to find out, plugs nope, crank angle sensor nope, coils nope, oh must be the ECU....but before he narrowed it down to the ECU he said ok we are really going to start digging into this thing I'm thinking WTF. I went and got a second opinion and he pulled the thing apart and came to the same conclusion the difference is he doesn't charge if he didn't fix anything....My kind of guy.:mitsu::dodge:

Well thats how I'd expect a rape shop to operate not someone thats getting the bulk of their business from 3/S guys and imports alone or someone that noticeably has an extremely high overhead. Call me old school and say what you want but I'd be more incline to take my car to someone for evey little thing that I know had my best interest at heart. All I'm saying is I just did not get that vybe from him. Prob because he's not that experinced at diagnosis yet and I know he was a mechanic prior to opening that shop and I could go on and on. Not talking shit just telling you how my experience was with him and its the first time I ever met him. I could go to a gas station and get a better vybe its just I know better than to do that. But I'm glad he's taking care of you. Should tell you I called and asked for codes to be read and he did that for free which was cool maybe its just his persona that I wasn't feeling either way all togather for me was a bad vybe.
