Forte Seal Conditioner for VSS treatment

I’m not normally one for conditioners, stop-leaks or any other quick fixes, but I’m considering this one.

My searches are coming up empty- has anyone tried this, and any horror stories/risks associated with it?
While my engine was “recently” rebuilt, I think it sat for a year or two since. Getting a lot of smoke after high-vacuum, like when engine braking to a stop. Really don’t want to do a full VSS job if I can avoid it for a while.

Sitting for ..' a year or 2'.... wouldn't have anything to do with it. Judging by all the other issues you have had they f'd something up.

I think you have corrected all your engine issues except low oil pressure at idle and this correct? and as far as oil pressure a test gauge & infrared thermometer to really 'see' what the pressure is vs. the stock gauge would probably be a good idea first... didn't you go to xxW-50 oil ?

Think it’s time to pull the heads?
You didn't want to really get into it, right ? You could pull the down pipe and see what bank its coming from.... ( hearing protection required ) lol. That may not really help much but it popped in my head... But if it IS the seals, if its running well otherwise why go any farther than needed...

I’m running 20w50 now, and it’s actually doing fine. After I got the fuel trims dialed in (and changed oil three times), I think it cleaned up. No more low oil pressure light at idle at least.

Two major issues left- smoking, mostly at high vac, and tuning is not great yet. Lags bad between 1k and when boost hits. Fixed the base timing today (was 15 degrees), so hopeful that helps. Need to get my WBO2 signal wire found and log to go any further there.

And it may have a knock in the back that I’m worried about. Oil is clear so far, but I’m worried about a rod bearing. :( And no, I don’t really want to pull the heads or engine. But I do worry WTF they really did in there. Some oil leaks I have not gotten fixed yet too, so more than one reason to open it up.

The good news is that there is no oil in the turbo outlets, so maybe they are in good shape.

Update- Did not try the sealer. I pulled the front head, didn’t like what I saw. Pulled the engine and found a cracked piston, was a piece loose between the ring and head.
Also a bunch of oil from the rear head breather port. Ended up doing a full rebuild.
