Lol, there are no easy holes to get to. There's one just above and to the left of where the steering column mechanism goes thru the firewall, you can see it by laying on the carpet infront of the driver's seat. You have to peel back some of the sound-deadening material to get to it. It's sealed with a rubber covering that you can cut or poke a hole through. There's another opening thats harder to get to, on the passenger side. If you look in the engine bay, right behind the bulge of the passenger side strut mount, you'll see a large bundle of wires going through the firewall. There's a rubber seal on that hole too. To get to it from inside, you have to remove the plastic cover on the underside of the dash, below the glovebox, and you can just barely see the hole located up under the dash, almost 'behind' the glovebox. This site will give you some ideas of where to look: http://www.stealth316.com/2-dashpanelaccess.htm

I somehow managed to get my 1 gauge welding cable from the battery in the trunk pulled up through the opening on the passenger side behind the strut bulge. It was a major PITA to do.

For a boost gauge, you'll probably want to use the opening on the driver's side, near the steering mechanism.

Drilling a few holes in the firewall is nothing to worry about, just touch up the metal so it does't rust, and put a rubber grommet there so it doesn't cut the wire/vac line. Drilling a hole is really the best way if you need to run a vac line into the cockpit so you can minimize the length.
