DSM gurus: sticky valve question

Quick question...

My budd is looking into getting a 91 TSI AWD but the guy says there's a sticky valve, how much is this going to cost him? what else could be wrong? what else does he have to look for? i can't get onto DSMtalk to do a search, so I thught i'd try here.

Never heard of that - my bet is that a valve is broken. Not in 10+ years have I ever heard any DSM owner mention a "sticky valve" problem.

It may be just ticking, which all DSMs do just like our cars.
