I was wondering, has anyone with an N/A raced with an RSX-S, and am I incorrect in assuming they'd be slower than an SL?
The RSX-S rumor mill says these guys have yet to break 14.9XX stock.. They have also agreed the 6.1 0-60 must have been a fluke.. If you are serious about learning more about them check out clubrsx.com.... Most stock rsx-s's are running 15.1-15.3, forget their 0-60's./..hollywood said:Powelsound is right, if there are equal drivers a RSX Type-s would kill a SL. It would slaughter an auto SL
Fact;
RSX Type-S
0-60 = 6.1 sec
1/4 = 14.8
Now unless your a better driver then Wickedrew your gonna get spanked. And remember this is compared to the SL so it quite a bit heavier, the base would have a slim chance![]()
I got these #'s from the sept 01 C&D, there more accurate then most because they use pro drivers that can really show what the car can do.TheyCallMeSteel said:

Also the top speed for the RSX type-S is 133, so this tells me that for a 6 speed trans car it was designed to be a "Quick" car.Elapsed times from 0-60 mph and through a 1/4 mile distance using full-throttle acceleration. Test cars are losded with driver, full tank of fuel, and 30 pounds of test instramentation. With manual trans cars, wheelspin or cluch slip or both are used at the starting line to make best use of the engines power characteristics and the vehicals traction. All upshifts are lift throttle and cluch disengaged. With auto trans cars, brake torquing is used to produce best launches and acceleration. With all trans types various shift points are used to maxamize performance. "The redline is never exceeded"
Time, speed, and distance are measured using a Datron Correvit optical fifth wheel. All performance results are corrected to standard atmospheric conditions.
This is all true, but what does it matter if a professional driver can get a 14.8 out of that car, the fact is many enthusiasts can not replicate that time. Of course there are plenty of people that dont post that own the car, who knows.hollywood said:

Heres a quot from C&D about how they do their testing.

Its 200hp, light weight, with a high geared 6 speed, I can see it running these kind of times easily.
And as far as running low 15's maybe its because not too many pro drivers are running a stock one in the 1/4?
But as far as the performance of the car itself, it is capeable of running high 14's. C&D has proved that, or maybe they just got a freak car?![]()
I have no doubts that our Base models can do better then the RSX's. But the thread was about SL's.WICKEDDREW said:Well if they can run a 14.8 with a "professional" driver, so can our cars. I ran a 14.9 @ 93.6mph with everything stock except the wheels, and 93.6mph is more than enough trap speed to run a 14.8. I didn't have a full tank of gas, though, but you also have to consider that I'm not a "proessional" driver. I've only been drag racing for about 7 years, and the Stealth was my first FWD attempt at drag racing.

I dont get what you mean?2Fast4U3000GT said:You also have to remember sometimes the cars that they test....They get the specs from the Manufacture
I think it would be close. The best time I've seen on the RSX board for a stock Type S is a 15.1. Does that help any?Powelsound said:Assuming equal drivers, the RSX-S will beat a DOHC 5-speed.
They aren't terrible looking. But they are definitely a step back from the Integra in the beauty department. And the performance department too (to this point).Devil Child said:And I agree, it's among the ugliest new cars I've ever seen.
Found legal of monopolistic practices, sure, I go along with that obviously because it's the truth. However, your comment about the epitome of capitalism is a bit off. Remember, the capitalism that Adam Smith was theorizing on was PURE CAPITALISM. Pure capitalism DOES NOT EXIST. In 'real' capitalism, it's every man for himself, and whoever has the biggest stick wins, regardless of if the product is the best or not. To bring up an example you might understand well, if you were to beat the RSX-S, which is a pretty even car with your's, you'd be the winner right? Even though maybe his car has achieved better numbers. Is that wrong? No, but guess what happens, he (like all the other whining computer companies) goes to an ear that will listen and talks shit about how the race wasn't fair, how you cut him off, how you have 2 mo' cylidaz yo'. In both cases, it's BULLSHIT. The RSX lost, and so has the competitors of Microsoft, it's not because they're criminals, it's because they played the game better than the rest. Would you give up a race to the RSX because it makes more HP per liter than you do? No, so why should Microsoft stop bullying the market around just becuase some businessmen didn't play the game right?Devil Child said:They are criminals by definition, they were found guilty of illegal monopolistic practices. On a less technical note, they are NOT acting as the epitome of capitalism. Capitalism relies on equal competition. Microsoft has done everything in their power to block competition and charge monopoly prices, which is the quintessential failure of capitalism. At the very least upper management is composed of criminals, and if I were the judge, they'd be in jail with ALL their money and copyrights taken, as they were gained illegally, no different from standard robbery, and I'd ban them from management positions for life. No reason they should get off lighter than non-executive robbers.
