Hey and Good day..

I have my car in an supposed reputable AC repair shop. He called me a bit ago and said that he found the problem..

The Revolution pickup sensor switch on the rear of the compressor is leaking R12 from apparently a bad O-ring where it is installed.

He told me because of how tight it is and next to the Exhaust Manifold he had to PUll the Compressor and bench it to replace this O-Ring. He wants 300 bucks labor and 130 for pump down and R12. The 130 part sounded fair..

Does he really have to pull the compressor?

I have extensive pictures I took before I R&R the motor a couple years back. I looked at the the AC compressor area and there is at least 2 to 3 inches between the compressor back and the manifold. And even more room if one would remove the aluminum shroud. And out near the front of the compressor there is at least 5 or 6 inches clearance.

Is this guy going to replace the seal without removing the compressor and tell me he did? You know what I mean..

Quick advice and reply is greatly appreciated. I feel like the guy is just trying to get me.. am I off base..

thank you very much..
