As you may have seen from my other threads, there's some weird stuff going on with my vr4 right now regarding fueling and boost control and possibly ignition.
Since this car is new to me and it could have more than one or two specific problems with the current MBC and inline fuel pump setup..., I want to try to get furthest back to stock as I can and hopefully discover/solve problems in the process. The major bump in that road is my car came with 13C's.
Is it possible to run 13C's with low - even wastegate boost with the stock fuel setup? Right now without an MBC I see the boost get up to about 5-7 psi. IIRC stock 92 levels should be ~9 psi if the boost control solenoid is working properly. Not sure why that is happening. I guess replacing the stock boost control a good manual boost control system is necessary regardless...I have a crappy bleeder mbc right now that I'm having terrible luck with...see other thread
I'm not good at comparing turbos yet. Different turbos move different amounts of air in a particular system at the same amount of boost, right? Can't you run 9b's at about 12-14 psi without needing any fuel upgrades? So how would the amount of air being pushed by 13C's at ~7-9 psi be compared the air being pushed by 9b's at 12-14 psi?
I don't need any links to web pages describing how turbo systems work. I've been reading up but would like some clarification from those with more knowledge than me.
