rear strut bar install

I'm trying to install a reat strut bar (Supermac) now with some difficulty. Do I have to take off the rubber boot and ECS connector or should the bracket slide over the boot? I'm having a hard time getting the bracket over the ECS wire and figured maybe I need to take it off. Thanks.

you have to take the rubber boot off. you also have to disconnect the connnector on ECS cars.

so I take the boot off and put the bracket under it? Sorry for the questions but I'm confused.

geez I can't believe I didn't even think to look at that site, thanks. Hopefully it will help me. *Edit* Stealth316 has instructions for the Cusco bar, my problem is getting the bar to sit flush over the rubber boot.

Take everything out. Just leave the Threads in the air and the bolt.

Then lay it on and bolt it down.

It doesn't sit 100%

I can't reuse the boot? It has a wire for the ECS running through it so I don't see I can't reuse it and still have ECS.

Boot is off

I just took it all out ans left it out. The boot doesn't really sit there perfectly anymore. Just leave them out and put the plastic covers back on you are going to have to cut those alittle to be able to reuse them too.

how did you get the rubber boot off? It has (on mine at least) a hole in it with one of the ECS wires running through it so it won't come off. I don't really want to cut it off.

You don't cut anything. Just remove everything.

on mine i just left the boot sitting ontop of the ends of the bar. didnt bother trying to see if i could bolt it back down. if you want to get the boot out of there your either going to have to cut it to get the harness out of it or take each individual wire and pin out of the connector, label where each 1 belongs, remove it from the boot, and re-install each wire in the connector. not that hard to do but i would reccomend just leaving the boot sitting there and trim the covers to re-install them.

Just finished a little while ago. I was able to push the ECS connector through the rubber boot so I reinstalled it. What did you guys use to trim the plastic covers?
