Questions about setting SAS screw adjustment

I've been having issues trying to adjust TPS and and BISS screw trying to fix hesitation between 2500-3000rpm, it used to be all lot worse and I have been able to improve the condition massively, but I realized after reading the service manual that I have been doing this wrong because it says in order to adjust the throttle body properly you first need to have your SAS screw adjusted properly and no slack in throttle cable before you adjust the TPS & the BISS. Years ago I stupidly adjusted the SAS screw trying to Increase my idle speed. I now know that was wrong and I need to reset it to factory setting which I think the manual says to 1)Loosen Locknut on SAS screw 2) Back off screw 3) Turn screw in to the point that it makes contact with the throttle plate arm BUT doesn't actually put any contact on it. 3) Turn in screw 1& 1/4" to the point where the butterfly valve just begins to open.

So what I am wondering is on my car the SAS screw is connected to this diaphragm that pushes In and out so I'm wondering should the SAS screw be set with the SAS screw rubber vacuum diaphragm things that cushion's throttle plate when snaps shut?? Or should it be fully protruding??

I would assume that the spring of the throttle plate would depress the SAS screw all the way back...

Hope someone can specify the procedure for me.

P.s. i need to set the SAS back to factory setting before I can accurately adjust the Throttle Position Sensor and the BISS.

Thank you!

Sorry about not having information on the Vacuum diaphragm and suspect you already have the manual from your comments, but if not below is link and page for SAS screw setting.

Page 13A-59 of 1992-1996 Service Manual - 3000GT Vol. 1 from below link

Edit: Below is a more detailed 3SWIKI procedure concerning the whole process, but I still don’t see the vacuum diaphragm covered.

Thank you, that did help. I managed to figure it out after reading your post.

However, now I am facing an entirely new issue. I am going to make a new thread for it in the appropriate section but my issue is my car starts and shuts down after about 5 seconds. In those 5 seconds I can rev the engine but then its just like the accelerator just stops responding completely and the car stalls.

Here is a link to my new problems thread: 92 R/T TT - engine starts fine every time but stalls...

Thanks again!
