first off i'll tell you that i'm not very knowledgeable about computers but here's my problem

i just got back to school from being at home, i took my computer with me but when i came back and set it up my computer is not displaying the color red at all. the only colors that come out are blue and green and the various combinations of those. it is substituting black for red instead. i know its not the monitor, because if i bring up the on screen display, it will display red, just the picture coming from the computer itself wont, oh yeah, i'm running Windows ME. thanks

I'd double jse20's idea. Sometimes one of those pins in the cable that connects to the PC can get bent. You'll need needle-nose pliers to straighten it back out if that's the case. That or the cable is simply not plugged in all teh way, or maybe was and got tugged out a little while sliding the computer or monitor back into place. I've experienced all of these problems, including the bent pin in the plug.

Check the settings for your graphics card. Perhaps the colors are screwy in there. I know that I can adjust that stuff on mine ...

Also, have you made sure that you havent turned off the red on your monitor's settings?
