Well, my story continues the same as many who have gone before me and many who will come after...........with spacers -________-

After being told by the sales rep (who was told by Motegi) that the wheels would fit, they don't. I tried them on a friend's 1G Stealth TT today and they BARELY touch the calipers. I plan to run some small hubcentric spacers (maybe 5-10mm) with them. They should work fine, as I don't track the car and don't plan to track it.

Damn, super disappointed and pissed that they told me they would fit.

Yeah, I have a friend with a set of 15mm spacers that I can test fit to see if they'll make the wheels clear. I (unfortunately) don't know that I'd be able to make up the space by just shaving the calipers.

Yeah, it sucks that I was told they'd work but they didn't. Oh well. The wheel did look great on the car I tried it on. Now we know!

Thoughts on a set of these? We manufacture the best Wheel Spacers money can buy | Motorsport Tech

I figure if I'm gonna get spacers (hopefully no more than 5mm. I'll do a test with washers soon) I might as well get good ones. These will match my car's hub size and the wheel's hub size so will be the best fit possible. I'll get extended lugs if it's anything over 3 or 4mm.

While those ARE cheaper I'd still need to get hub-centric rings for the wheels. I'd rather just spend the extra money to get spacers that convert the hub size as well. I also don't like how the ones on Supercar are considered hub-centric because the hub protrudes through.

You know a lot more about this than I do, I'm sure....I just feel like the fewer separate parts I can have between my wheels and my hubs, the better off I am.

This is a slightly different topic, but would you recommend getting spacers for the rear as well if I get them for the front (for handling purposes)?

If you can knock out the hubcentric ring and the spacer in one item, that sounds like it could be a good idea. I've just never tried it.

Rear spacers are probably more about looks than handling - when the fronts are spaced out and the backs aren't, it might look funny to you.

OK. I'll go with that then.

And if it's only a few mm I doubt it'd make a big difference look-wise. I'm just wondering if a reverse stagger like that would make the car more prone to over/understeer. If it's just a matter of looks I'll save $70 and not get the rears...

Wow, so I contacted Customwheelsexpress.com to talk to them about the fact that the wheels didn't fit. I requested a partial refund for the price of spacers. Got an email today saying that they granted it. I am absolutely blown away by their customer support so far.

First they included a free set of lug nuts with the wheels for buying a set of 4. Then they gave me a $14 off deal for inquiring about them. Now, when the wheels that they said would fit, didn't, they're giving me a $60 refund to buy spacers!

I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to buy a set of these. Our cars ARE in the database now for these in 18x9 as "not fitting" so don't expect to get lucky like I did. ;p

I'll get back soon with specs for the spacer size I need. Hoping to check that out this Saturday or Sunday.

Got around to fitting the wheels with washers to figure out spacer size today.

7mm.

The lug nuts went on fine with plenty of turns so I should (HOPEFULLY) be ok without extended studs. I've seen people saying that 5mm is the max without studs and others saying that it's more like 10.

As you can see from the pictures, it's a tight fit, but a fit nonetheless.

Before Spacer

After Spacer

And here's a pic of the wheel mounted with lugs so you can see how the brake fills it.

Nice! Looks great! How much clearance do you have? I read that 2mm is the min # to shoot for. And I run 6mm of spacing and haven't broken the factory studs yet.

I didn't actually measure the clearance. It's probably a millimeter or two. And it's gonna come out another half millimeter from that picture cuz that's measured at 6.5 mm of spacing with the washers and the spacers are gonna be 7.

I am as well. The wheels/tires are supposed to poke ~1" more than stock, so the 7mm spacers shouldn't look TOO different. We shall see though.

The 2 7mm hub-centric AND wheel-centric spacers were $70 + $25 shipping.

In the meantime, they're looking good with the tires on ;)
