how do YOU rev to 9K RPM???

I have rev'd to 9K on the race car and on my car without incident. OEM oil pumps/pans/pickups.

Maybe look into checking your rod and main clearances. Maybe you are building too lose (low oil pressure and bad pressure to the bearing surfaces) or maybe too tight (heats up the bearings/oil and can cause a bearing seizure).

I would look into about 20 on rods and mains, maybe as low as 15. I am currently at 20 and she is happy.

Another question, Why 9000? Are you making good power at 9k? You may save parts and run quicker to shift sooner unless you are still making as much power at 9K you are at 7500.

Just cause you can run 9K, don't mean you should.

Your bearing clearances look good. 15 may be too tight. Could be a mix of the 15 thou and the oil you are using. As clearances tighten oil temps rise. Although 15 isn't crazy tight.
I run 20/20 rods mains. It's all a balancing act.

I use Clevitte which helps. They are the best IMO for beating on. I think Ray stated a few times that when he can, he uses Clevittes. Luckily I was able to find a 4 bolt (used) that matched my used crank to make it 20 thou so I did not have to have the mains line bored. That gets expensive. I did have to get the 3SX rods sized to 20, but rods are cheap compared to main resizing.

I also use Brad Pen 10/30 Racing oil Not that red line isn't great oil. Just pointing out.

I have played with 9K on the dyno, street, and strip. Since I have stock cams and almost stock heads, she is way down on power at 9K so there is no need for me to go there so I don't do it all the time.

I would def invest in one of the available oil pump gears if 9K is where you are going to hang out. Insurance. Not that I have ever had an OEM pump explode. But it can happen. Also use an OEM dampner. And IMO, an OEM flywheel.

Actually there is, its called 'Exhibition' of speed/acceleration/whatever they want to call it, and in some states its up to 6 points
Yep. And they WILL pull you over if they think you are accelerating TO THE SPEED LIMIT to quickly. I was ticketed in AZ years ago, By myself, no other cars, never broke the speed limit. Got "exhibition of speed" ticket.
