Well I guess I can start my build thread now that I am starting to get some progress on the RX7.
My progress will be updated here on this web page
http://www.venomspeedshop.com/RX7 Build.htm
Here is what is going on so far.
Picked up a 1995 Black PEP RX-7 that had been stolen and recovered then auctioned by the insurance company in 2000. The car had 35k miles on it when it was stolen then sat for 7 years till I came across it and bought it.
It was missing; thing that makes it go room room, Trans, Seats, Bumper, Wheels, Windshield, many interior parts and had 4 crappy shocks on it and a cut body harness. So I have been picking up the missing parts over the past year and now I am actually beginning my LS1 Swap.
Things I have Purchased
LS1 Mounting Kit from HinsonSuperCars.com
Includes:
Custom Subframe
Trans Mounting Bracket
Torque Arm
Bump Steer Correction
Aluminum Drive Shaft
From Dynotested.com:
Dakota Digital Speedometer correction
LS1 Wiring Harness Modification
LS1 Computer Tune
Steeda Tri-ax shift handle
Custom Shift boot
Adapters for RX7 Coolant and oil sensors
Other aftermarket parts:
Tokico 5 way adjustable Shocks/Struts
Tein S Lowering Springs
ADR Decidance Wheels 18x9.5 Rear 18x8.5 Front
Sumitomo HTR ZIII Tires 275/35/18 Rear 245/40/18 Front
Drilled and Slotted Rotors w/ Posi Quite pads on all 4 corners
Custom bonnet shocks (replace the damn bonnet prop)
Walbro 255lph Fuel pump
2000 Corvette Fuel Filter
Wilwood Clutch Master Cylinder
Hinson Supercars Clutch Line
2000 LS1 w/ 45k miles
2000 T56 6-speed Transmission w/45k miles
I am still waiting on some of the mounting parts but I am getting the fuel system, syspension, wiring, and interior taken care of so I can get this thing running asap.
Here are a few pictures.
The RX-7 as I bought it
Few new parts added. With my old stealth wheels holding it off the ground
The LS1 and T-56
Stripped out the Interior
Shocks, Springs, Rotors, Calipers
Wheels and Tires
Ill try to keep this updated with progress. But Check my web page if you dont see anything on here soon!
