Correct, the stock boost gauge is only showing a value that is calcultated. Our cars do not have a MAP sensor (the 96+ have one but measurenment is not showed and is only used to control the vacuum phase)
If the weather condition change, temp is getting colder and such stuff, other fuel values are taken from the fuel maps as well as ignition maps. This results in different readings on the gauge ! Unfortunately, the meter is only a show thing and you can throw it away any time.
