I want to put a water temp gauge with numbers on it. I'm assuming this sensor with only one wire on it goes to the interior gauge and the one with 2 wires goes to the ecu.

Is this correct?
I guess I could just pull the sensor and see if the gauge or ecu reacts.

It's a mechanical gauge. So my plan was to remove the electrical sensor and in its place thread the mechanical sensor into the thermostat housing
