What mods should I get to get around 400 crank HP out of my 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4? The car is completely stock as of now.

What would be an approximate price for the parts?

intake rip off brand-40 bucks
manual boost controler set at around 14 psi-30 bucks
downpipe-300-400 bucks
exhaust cutout/testpipe-140

I would think that would get you close. However you should at least get a boost gauge, the stock boost gauge is shit

Yep, that's about right. I ran a 2 12.8's and 5 12.9's @105mph with those exact mods (except I was boosting peak to 17-18psi on race gas), and there's several other dudes doing the same.

Most HP calculators will say that's around 380-390 crank HP.

After that, it's S-AFC ($350 new), 450CC injectors ($100), Walbro Fuel Pump ($95 shipped special right now), and you can boost 17-18 on pump gas.

After that, Dr-500's or GTPro 347s ($1300-1500), will easily put you over 400hp, I belive if I remember that's around 450+ at 18psi. You should be in the 11's and the 100-teens at that point.

Oh yeah... with new turbos you'll definately need a clutch (whispers DXD.. DXD... see sig... see sig...)

As as temporary measure, a stock clutch isn't too bad until you get the turbos... I pull consistant high 1.6x and many 1.7 and 1.8 60 foots with stock clutch, but it only lasted about 10k miles, too. :)

that's why I'm going DXD now. :)

I have about 400 crank HP with a BC (set to 1.3bar), 450cc injectors, k&n, and a S-AFC (which I still need to return to hans hehe).
the BC was $500, (but a manual will do the same thing, but you'll need a boost guage), the injectors were $100 for all 6, the k&n was about $50, and the S-AFC is being borrowed..but they're $300 or so like Jeremy said :)
