if he has a stock 2nd gen you will take him....but not by much if he has a freak. if he is 1st gen....hes dead. if hes modded slightly and can launch it will be close.
See sig. Oh, that was on a hot day. :)

Just be aware that twin turbos suffer from the weather more so than other cars. ESPECIALLY if they get heat soak in their intercoolers.
Now it's winter.... Doh hehe... :)
Make the race as long as possible. VR4's have lower trap speeds than other cars with similar 1/4 ET's. They get the jump with their 60 foot times, but by the end of the 1/4, it becomes obvious which car is faster. Of course, if you have drag radials, he'll NEVER be in front of you. I see Mustangs and LS1's pulling 1.6's every week at the track, and modded VR4's are usually in the 1.7's or 1.8's. People think AWD is unbeatable, but any powerful RWD car with drag radials can beat a VR4 off the line.
Stock vr-4 should be around 13.2 secs if they are good driver.

other than that if he has mods he could be in the 12's which means he would take you.
But what kinda prick just goes and talks smack to people

i dunno apparently he is the boyfriend of one of the girls that runs a register in my store and she told him about my car. i do have slicks now though and i just ordered a torque converter so i'm hoping for 1.6 60' times. that'd be nice...thanks for all your help guys.
Mid to high 13s are the norm for bone stock twin turbos if they are in a good state of tune.

Darktrail - please show us some 13.2 slips from stock cars (K&Ns, bleeders, or even pulled wastegate hoses don't count as stock). Not saying it is impossible, I just have never seen anything better than a 13.44.

Yeah, a stock VR-4 will be around 13.2 if you consider +.5 around...
Abram!!!

Dude... I haven't seen the new ride until now!! So you DID get the WS6?! I thought you were gonna get a T/A. So did you wind up getting what you wanted for the VR4? Fill me in, bro!!
Nice WS6 Powelsound!!!

I love the look of the front, it looks so mean...:D Nice ride bro...
I find 13.2 for a stock VR4 a pretty big jump, I have never seen a timeslip from a stock 3si that is that low. But if its possible what have I been doing
Are you one of the guys that was at Rockingham in Feb with us last year?? Where do you live??
I'll come and race that VR4. :)

... and the Best STOCK quarter mile I've ever seen was in consumer reports with a 99 VR-4 at 13.44. Here's the link.

Thanks for that link, it was a good article.
No Problemo. I like that article because that's one of the vry few "good" reviews I've seen of a VR4. I can't believe that they got almost 12 flat out of that Viper!!

OK, 13.2.. back that thing up!! :)
I've seen his car's website, and I believe it could run a 13.2. He has a ton of shit done to the car, including a fully built auto tranny (I think by GTPro). I'm not saying he DID run a 13.2, I'm just saying he COULD. If I ever get a set of drag radials, I'm shooting for a 13.9 with either my current setup ot maybe another small mod if that's what it takes.
On filter, downpipe, and boost controller only set at .92 bar instead of 1 bar and a little over a 1/4 tank of gas I ran a 13.1 @107.** this was with an almost 2 sec 60; ft though my stock clutch sucks and I am getting a new one with the rebuild. I only launched around 4k rpm's hope this helps... if it is a second gen with the above mods easily in the 12's heck I should've been. and add exhuast high flow cat and gutted precats and it is gone
