VR4 vs WS6 with NOS

Friday Night @ the Ilegals this WS6 with NOS (and some other mods that he did not tell me about) want it to race I said Sure let's do it..

So we line up, I get the perfect launch BOOM gone no signs of the WS6 until I hit 130..

When we return everyone though I was running NOS or bigger turbos, for their surpirse I'm only BPU.

After that nobody would race me

Damn!! Thats a hell of a kill, especially up to 130 and him not catching you. Do you know what shot he was running??

Last nite toward the gym, I was at the stoplight and a full-size pick up truck was besides me (not sure it was Chevy or Dodge). I didn't think anything of it. But to my surprise he spun his tires hard and took off. So I took off after him (like any normal citizen

) w/o launching, so i was behind 2 car lengths. I caught up w/ him quick in 2nd gear and passed him then he slowed down. I said WTF, first he caught me off guard then after seeing me catching up quickly, he quits. And we just hit 65mph. Sore loser

I guess he wanted to test what a Japanese powerhouse can do.

When I first got my VR4, I wanted to do exactly what you have done to yours. I bet that thing is incredible. May I ask you what it cost to get it to that level. Right now, I'm content with BPU level only because there's really nowhere here in Chicago to really exploit a 500 or 600hp car and reliability at that level could be minimized. Thanks in advance.

The performance parts are around 10K w/o labors. It's a different car now, before I was BPU also. The car pulls hard all the way to redline due to the bigger turbos and more fuels. I'm planning to hit the track this weekend w/ a couple of guys on this board to find out my 1/4mile. Hopefully I could hit 11s something, but using race gas and set the boost at 23psi. I'll let everyone knows.

it was a 6 speed, I have no idea what kind of shot he was running, it had to be small

he would not show me his engine bay.

I was going to post it elsewhere but it deserves to be mentioned -

Black94VR4's car is about the most perfect all-round car I've seen. Plenty of go-fast mods and the looks are awesome without going overboard (no rice).

Thanks for the compliment, that means alot. I like my car to look as stock as possible, b/c I think 3000GT already has its exotic look. My main goal is to focus on performance. Sometimes peoples are in awe of what the car can do. It's a good feeling inside.

hope someday i can modify mine to your level.

after moving into this "BIG" Chicago area, the fastest i have run was around 130 mph and only for about 10 sec. most of time, the traffic was jammed.

Yep, I saw BlackVR4's car at Englishtown, NJ over the summer and I too thought it beautiful. Truly amazing and distinctive somehow in person. The lines are so evocative...I complimented him on it and he told me "it's sexy but slow." He'd just run a 13.7 I think...

Yeah, it's frustrating sometimes to have a car such as ours in a city as congested with traffic as Chicago. While on a contract last year in Naperville, I was able to get up to just over 145mph on I-355 but have not come remotely close to that speed since. No time for the track either but I trying to make time. Anybody got any time for sale? Jeez, I don't have much of it running a business these days.

You should hit high 11's at worst. Heck, I ran a paltry 12.71 with my mods(had stock BOV then) a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, I had a about a 60/40 mixture of 100 octane and 93 octane and the track temps were around 60-65 degrees that day.
