I was wondering what is needed to run DR-650's and DR-500 correctly. And if someone had about 3 grand to spend with a lightly moded vr-4 wich one should they go with?

you need things like
-new y pipe
-intake(k&n)
-new bov
-full exhaust(down pipe n everything)
-new fuel pump,rails,lines,injectors(550for dr500and bigger for 650's
-boostcontroller (blitz dsbc is good)
-some fuel mamagement arc2(controller) and arm1(guage)
-better clutch would be useful
thats pretty much the jist of it:bandit:

you dont need all of those...you can run them on stock fuel if you only run 10 or so psi. if you really want to take advantage of them you need fuel upgrades:

pump
injectors
fuel computer

as always k&n
and at this point exhaust would help a lot.

well if you put it that way i can buy the biggest turbo on earth and run it at 5 psi. its still usless...
you want to take advantage of the turbo not waste all its potential

just my 2 cents

what u need for 650r's

If you want to do it in order...
Stage 1
1. BOV
2. Boost Controller (14psi)
3. K&N intake
4. bigger exhaust
5. gut the cats
6. larger fuel pump

Now you have 400hp but the power drops off after 3500rpms as the stock turbos drop the boost after 3500rpms.

Stage 2

6. larger injectors 720's
7. ARC2 (fuel controller)
8. 650r's

You can turn up the boost if you use race gas but you really should have EGT's so you can tune the ARC2 properly so...

9. EGT sensors
10. 3" Downpipe (helps lower EGT's and spool turbos faster)

you should be at 450hp at 14psi but with race gas you can goto 600hp @ 24psi on 117oct

Even though the 450hp is only 50hp more. It feels like alot more power because the power never drops off.

Additional stuff:
You can add larger sidemounts and fuel rails but that is your call....
Oh yeah, if you have a first gen (your brakes completely suck) so you had better get some bigger brakes to slow your beast down......
