Just bought a 96 3000GT. Automatic trans problems the next day. Drove about 3 miles and trans felt like it went in neutral. No drive or reverse. Had it towed in and that night tried it again. Now car will only pull for about 100 yards then goes into neutral. When it goes out there is only neutral. Any ideas on what could be wrong with it?

i have the similar fault ,does yours make a buzzing noise when you put into gears ,but not nor p ?if so like mine its gonna be solenoids or poss temp sensor?mine is a 94 na/auto 4wd/4ws. mine drives all great for approx 15 mins when it warms it loose all the gears ?when its cold its all ok again for approx 15 mins ,then gears gone again ,& a buzzing sound from something in the autobox ?when you shift into gears ,but not buzzing in park or neutral,its certainly a strange one for sure.
