Hi Guys

After 9 weeks:eek: I finally have my GTO back on the road. I had a new heavy duty clutch fitted, the gearbox rebuilt with all new synchros, steering rack rebuild, talshaft bearings replaced and new oils and fluids all round. Total cost AUS$5900!!!
BUT the car runs like a dream now using the RSM (yes I know the figures are rubbish but they are still comparable in a relative sense) I get a 343hp reading, before it was 240. This mechanic is very thorough and careful and I will definitely be going back (not like the other Monkeys that have worked on it). He reckons there must have been a leak in one of the hoses or whatever, now that the car has been to bits and put back together properly it runs like a charm.
Just thought I would share.
Oh the cost breakdown all in Aussie $ is as follows:

JPC (mechanics labour) $3,725.80
Mitsubishi parts (purchased before car went in) $450
Synchros purchased from USA (CRS) $732
Gearbox rebuild $990 - outsourced

Total: $5,897.80
