The EURO love build (pic heavy!)
First off, i dont want everyone waiting for the result. I just got a new job and it requires me to be in Texas for the next two months. Im hoping to finally be driving it in Oktober 2010.
But i thought id post up what ive been doing for the last year and a half.
This build has been full of suprises and new goals.
Thanks everyone that answered my questions, from vendors to members!
Things i discovered my 1st gen came with stock:
Forged crank, front washer tank, 13G turbo's.
The goal now is to just get her running again and me falling in love with the car again before i mod it some more.
The Story:
I bought the car back in januari 2007 and ive enjoyed it for two years as 1 of 36 original Dutch cars. Then, in 2009 (Problem started in 2008) i decided to stop messing around and thoroughly overhaul this engine.
The car kept overheating on me after numerous times of trying to fix it.
I replaced: waterpump, timingbelt, thermostat, rad cap, radiator, cooling fins.
I tested for: Compression, leaking headgaskets, leaking other gaskets, blockage, flushed the system twice.
When i drove it the last time, i made sure weather was good, music was right, traffic was low, speed was high and my smile was huge!
Mods now: (will be updated as i go and remember other stuff)

The pictures I took along the way:
This is what i started out with:
Taken in May 2008, at a Meeting in Holland (De Meern, AC restaurant)
The engine i started with as the long rebuild period kicked off in 2009.
The steel y-pipe and HKS bov were my earlier additions to the car.
The last day she still had all her parts, nearly stock.
The teardown has begun!
Bumper gone, Suprise! A "99 only" washer tank! (used for the headlights)
Getting there! Couldnt get the rear mount off, bolts were all turned to crud, had to take off the rear head to get the grinder down there.
Finally its out! Now i could really see how dirty everything was, the bay is covered in gunk.
The kitchen finally being put to good use.
The bay ready for refurbished, cleaned, upgraded and new parts!
