is there any company that will do the modification to the oil pan and cradle? I really just dont feel like pulling the trans or I dont have welder to weld aluminum

Just narrow the 74 girdle and run a 4 bolt 72 TT oil pan. Works perfect. (Thanks for showing is the way Ray P!)

You do realise if you use the debonair engine the heads are 100% identical right? All part numbers inc cams correspond with 6G72 part numbers. There's ZERO point in doing this.
TT heads are different which is what he has.

Ahh. Well, might be a gain? bit of unchartered territory there.
Not uncharted at all. TT and NA heads are interchangeable and has been done before on 72s and 74s.

You should actually degree them with a degree wheel, solid lifter and dial indicator. No guessing then because your cam timing will be set for your specific setup.

It's actually not hard to do and Webcam has an awesome calculator on their website that takes care of all of the math. You can use their calculator for any cam.

the Kia 3.5L DOHC from early 2000's is identical, but FWD - you can use various parts off of it such as Lower Intake Manifold, *SOME* timing components, water pump, etc. Crank is forged, 4 Bolt mains, etc etc

when I built my 6G75 with 3/S DOHC Heads, that is where I got the missing parts to make it work - they are EXTREMELY Cheap and very plentiful on ebay, and rockauto.

Does the 3.5 Kia swap in? The debonair long blocks are getting harder to find.

I’ll probably just stick to a 4Gswap in my son’s car. Don’t want too much hassle with the swap. 3.5 auto and a little boost would be fun little car. He wants to do Race Week so 4Gswap is probably better still for what he wants to do with it.

Carry on.
