I was thinking of putting some gauges in the stock 3-pod location , just wondering if anyone has tried it before I tear my dash apart.

Been there, done that. Here's a shot of mine as done with 60mm Greddy Electronic Peak hold/memory gauges.

Do a search and you should find a lot on this topic. I must answer this at least every couple of weeks.
