ive been wanting to Take the rest of this black cover off and maybe use Sandpaper to get all of that Surface rust off. Recommendations for what Grit Sandpaper to use and if i should do it wet or dry?

Remove the trim piece from the vehicle if you want to properly strip and prep it for paint. From a quick glance, it does not look like it will require too much effort for being surface rust. Blasting it is probably easier and faster.

Yeah surface rust came out really easily with just some 0000 Steel wool and preped it for paint and didnt come out too bad haha. Ill see if i remember to get a pic up once ita completely dry but thank you 🙏🏽
