WHY DOES MY CHILTONS 3000GT SERVICE MANUAL SAY AND SHOW SOHC ENGINES WITH TWO CAMSHAFTS ONE FOR RIGHT AND ONE FOR LEFT WOULDNT THAT DESIGNATE AN DOHC ENGINE INSTEAD?????

On a SOHC engine, there is only one camshaft on each cylinder head, gives you the SOHC (Single Over Head Cam) acronym. Each cam operates both intake and exhaust valves. On DOHC you have two cams per cylinder head. One for the intake valves and one for the exhaust, total of 4 cams, two per head.
