I just followed the directions exactly, it took me about five minutes. You just pry the grey bar off with a flathead screwdriver and then push a wire down into the hole the other wires in. Make sure that its touching the metal connector and push the grey bar back in, then jump it to the other side in the same manner. If you tapped into the wires it would be just as easy. Be careful and you won't screw anything up. The only problem is that you can't run your fogs and snake eyes, because the fogs don't come on with parking lights.
Some people also wire it up this way with a switch in the jumper wire so they can have parking lights or snake eyes.
