I would like to know if any one with a VR-4 has a warrenty that covers the motor and the turbos? If you do I would also like to know who is the warrenty thru and were did you get it and how much did you pay. Also what year your car is and how many miles you had when you got the warrenty. Also how long the warrenty covers all the stuff ....... ie months/miles

I got my warranty through the dealer i bought my VR4 from, but the company offering the warranty is called AutoSave. I've got a 91 VR4, i bought it with like 86k miles. Just about everything up front is covered, engine, turbos, drivetrain, tranny, transfer case.

It's covered for 5 years/100,000 miles (yes up to 186k miles!!!)

I the dealer said he normally sells the warranty for like 1400 extra or something, but i got it from him for 700, which sounds about right for his cost (payed him in cash full so i got the warranty cheap)

The only catch with autosave is that you use their special "autosave engine product" or something, they send you a quart or two of this junk and you dump it in your coolent.

http://www.warrantywizard.com is another place to check. Around $1400 for 50K mile warranty. One word of caution, many companies will void warranty if modifications are made!!

Strange! The Quote they provided was for a 95 3000GT, Turbo, 4X4. Not sure how that would be considered a base or SL. You should ask them why they provide a quote on something they will not Warranty? Good Luck.

you are really telling it that you have a base with a turbo with 4x4. not a VR-4 thats why it is not even an option with them because they dont cover it. try and look up a Stealth turbo and you will find the same thang. If anyone out there know were I can get a warrenty for my car let me know.

warranty

Western General Insurance in California provided a warranty that was sold by the Mitsubishi dealer (I did not buy the car from them but they still sold me the policy) It is for 4yrs or 48K miles on my 95 vr4 spyder with 20k miles. It was $2100. It is an inclusive warranty (tells you the parts it will cover) It was the most comprhensive they had. They also sell an exclusive policy (tells you what it won't cover) sometimes called a bumper to bumper warranty. They wanted $3500 for the same coverage so I did not pruchase it. I just purchased it about two weeks ago. A local Mitsubishi dealer here in the Sacramento, CA area claims that he can get me a 3yr. 36k Mitsubishi warranty bumper to bumper for $1625 I am going to see him this weekend and if I can get that policy I will switch.

Well let me know what you find out. I would be very interested in getting a warranty. let me know if they have to do an inspection or what you have to due to get the warranty from them. I mean nothing is wrong with my car I just want to be coverd just in case. My car is a 95 and it has 34k on it. Thank you

bankrup

The first dealer looked at the car physically, but all the service had been done at that dealership so they had the records on the car, and it was in excellent shape. I do not know what they would have required otherwise. I will let you know what I find out on Saturday

Mitsubishi Motors Warranty on vr4

Bankrup Fianlly got to the dealer, they sold me a comprehensive warranty (covers everthing except a list like belts, hoses, tires, brakes etc.) Mitsubishi for 3 years or 36k miles 1635 plus 100 to get deductible from 100 to 50. The Mitsubishi form says the most miles that can be on the car when you buy the warranty is 60k to get the 3yr; 75k to get a 2yr 24k; and 100k to get a 1yr 12k warranty. Things the guy told me (I always take things they say with a block of salt, Once a salesman told my wife and daughter that the hardtop on a Miata would fit in the trunk, both of them knew better) 1. Mitsubishi won't let him sell the warranty if he can sell an aftermarket warranty but he did not have one that would cover the vr4. 2. he was supposed to have the vehicle checked out but he waived that since mine only has 21116 on the odometer today so he felt confident that everything was o.k. Other things, The warranty requres you to do the recommended services and keep the receipts and requres "you must have your vehicle serviced in the following manner every 6 months or 7,000 miles whichever comes first: Change oil and filter; check and maintain trans. fluid level, drive axle fluid level and coolant level and lubricate front suspension. and follow other special manufacturer services. (sorry for the long post) Doug

I saw en extended warranty provider on Edmunds that sounded pretty good with the way they pay for parts/service. I think it is called GoldWarranty or something like that. I think it covers everything as well. Has anyone had exp with them or heard positive or negative things about them?

It's covered for 5 years/100,000 miles (yes up to 186k miles!!!)
I would like to believe that this is possible but it sounds "too good to be true."

I have never heard of any company writing extended warranty policies beyond 100K miles. These companies are in the business of making money and writing a policy that covers powertrain (including turbos) out to 186K miles is a guaranteed way to loose money.

Also, sounds pretty funky that they send you chemicals to put in your car

If you have a link I would love to take a look.
